A New Era For Club America?

It has been a long couple of weeks for Las Aguilas del America. After much rumor, it was announced that Carlos Reinoso would no longer be managing the team. Many have blamed the teams downfall to the manager, and now hope that the new manager, Alfredo Tena, can do something to make the team rise in the Apertura 2011.

After a tie, 1-1, with the team Xolos from Tijuana, Tena says he is satisfied with the team. The player Christian Benitez scored a goal at minute 85, tying the game after Javier Yacuzzi scored for Xolos, not even a minute into the game. In a conference given after the game, Tena says the team is far from what it can be, but that there has been a change for the better due to the recent changes.

In other news, campaigns for the team have been put to a halt due to the teams lack in victories during Apertura 2011. Jaime Ordiales, vice president of Club America said this week that the commercials, which have caused a lot of judgment and critic, should be upheld with victories, which the team has been lacking. He also said that he is not sure if the campaign will continue, even if the team does better in Apertura 2011.
