Benitez Kidnapping Allegations

Christian Benitez, the Ecuadorian forward for Club America has a huge problem on his hands.  This past weekend, he accused two women who work as house keepers at his residence of stealing some precious and expensive jewelry. However, when he presented this on trial, the two women turned the tables on him.

Apparently, in a response to the allegations of theft, the women accuse Benitez of kidnapping them.  Benitez gave a statement saying he was innocent and that his wife, as well as his mother-in-law, are going to give a statement to the police about the whole situation.  He hopes that the problem will soon be over with and that the women are properly punished for the robbery.  

In the mean time, Benitez has to stay in Ecuador while the case is open, meaning that he is going to miss the mandatory health checks that Herrera is requiring of all the players.
