After another tie, America needs to pick up the pace and start winning some
games to make it through Torneo Clausura 2012. This past Friday America
played against Tecos and it seemed as if the team was going to lose when Fredy
Bareiro scored for Tecos at only 39 minutes into the game. Las Aguilas
didn’t wait long though; Christian Benitez made an impressive goal at minute
46, tying the game. The rest of the game was intense; yellow cards were
flying left and right as both teams fought for control of the ball.
Unfortunately for America, the game ended with a score of 1-1. The
score board on Torneo Clausura 2012 in total is listed with America at number 8
of 18 teams, a great improvement from the last tournament. Of course, the tournament just began
and that just means that Las Aguilas have to put a great effort into not going
any lower on the list. The next game is set for January 28th against San
Luis where we hope to see a victory for Las Aguilas. ‘Till next time!
