Tottenham Power Through New Castle

A long week of agony and chaos for Harry Redknapp came to an end as his team triumphed and won over the crowd at White Hart Lane this Saturday.

The horrible burden hovering above him during his trial for tax evasion seemed to vanish as Redknapp watched his team produce a dazzling performance that left Newcastle dumbfounded.

No doubt his was football at its finest for Redknapp as his team demonstrated a combination of both quick precision and concise accuracy.

The White Hart Lane crowd's reception was warming as the adoring audience cheered on Redknapp by welcoming him with the song, "One Harry Redknapp" followed by, "You're Spurs and you know it." Such a reaction from the fans is clear evidence that this
English manager is doing his job just right.

Thanks to Emmanuel Adebayor, Tottenham was able to score two goals in the first six minutes of the match.  It also helped that Newcastle had a poor defense against this raging team.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto drove home from 18 yards as he made a low cross from the box that escaped from the grasp of Newcastle's players. Not two minutes later Adebayor left a flabbergasted Fabricio Coloccini frozen out the field as he sent over a low cross pass to Louis Saha who found the net and added to the score for his vibrant team.

Newcastle had talent such as the Senegalese striker Demba Ba but unfortunately such talent had gone to waste as Tottenham was unbeatable.

The horror continued for Newcastle's defense as Adebayor once again was able to brake clear into the penalty area. He dashed through the field and was temporarily blocked by Tim Krul but the ball found Kranjcar and in went the fourth goal.

No major changes happened to the teams except for the substitution of Gabriel Obertan which Alan Pardew came in. The second half was just as riveting as the first half for the Spurs as they powered through the match with equal stamina (unfortunately for Newcastle) Adebayor remained the key player as he became the main source of counter attacks against Newcastle.

Shane Ferguson was introduced during second half. When he came on he picked up his New Castle’s pace.  However, Ferguson's solidity could not save his team from the Spur’s excellent passing.

The game came to a closing in the 64th minute when Tottenham added their fifth goal. Assou-Ekotto passed the ball to Saha as he headed the ball back and Adebayor barraged home a glorious goal.

It seems certain that Adebayor will be signed on a full-time basis for Tottenham due to this game as the Premier League title will be a reachable objective for the Spurs.

Next match for the Spurs:
February 19
vs Stevenage FA Cup
