Fans everywhere rejoiced as America defeated Jaguares this weekend in what
became their third consecutive victory in Torneo Clausura 2012. It
wasn’t a very exciting game; to be honest it was rather boring. America
was very defensive and played it safe during the entire game, despite
maintaining possession of the ball most of the game. Experts say the reason America played safe during this game
was because Jaguares has a team that is “better formed and complicated
[America’s] plays.”
Daniel Montenegro scored the first goal for America at minute 27 after Miguel Layun hit the goal post and Christian Benitez passed to El Rolfi. The second goal was scored by Luigiani Gallardo. His goal was due to an error made by the opposing goalie who came out to midfield to get the ball, Gallardo stole it and shot from midfield bringing the score to 2-0.
Although it was a boring game, America managed to get all 3 points from the game bringing them to a total of 18 points. They now rank second on the Torneo Clausura 2012 table.
As I mentioned previously, experts were talking about how America was playing too safe during this game. Well, El Piojo gave an interview earlier this week and said that the team was playing how it was supposed to. They knew Jaguares is a solid, well formed team and they needed to take advantage of their weaknesses— whenever they were presented. “And that is what we did,” he said. Something he did not want to talk about was his being kicked out of the game by the referee, Ricardo Arellano. He said that he did not know why and that they should ask the referee himself.
People who did comment about the situation were the Management. Management of the team said that they have put in a complaint about the referee saying that he had no reason to kick El Piojo out of the game. They also mentioned that a lot of referees pay more attention as to what is happening outside of the field than to what is happening in the field. As always, I will keep you informed as to what happens next! ‘Till next time!
