Liverpool had little time to enjoy their lead.
Three minutes later, referee Kevin Friend- a challenger to Howard Webb's
"Ref of the Year" title- awarded a corner to Stoke City, causing an
uproar from the Kop and earning Pepe Reina a yellow for protesting. A replay
proved the 'keeper right, Stoke's Ryan Shawcross sending the ball out of play.
Peter Crouch sent a header into the back of the net in the
corner-that-shouldn't-have-been.
Liverpool retaliated, with Andy Carroll sending a volley high. Stoke's Walter made a decent run in response, only to have Pepe collect.
The second half started with Steven Gerrard linking up with Suarez and drilling a ball towards the bottom corner, Sorenson saving. Suarez sent a weak header in off of Downing's ball moments later.
It was the 57' that saw Liverpool take the lead again, Downing linking up with Gerrard who sent the ball back, Downing taking off sprinting before sending the ball into the back of the net.

Stoke became increasingly frustrated in the dying minutes, Kelly and Suarez both being subbed off limping.
Despite the last minute injuries, Liverpool find themselves heading back to Wembley, reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 2006. The Reds will face Everton or Sunderland in mid-April at Anfield South.
