Colombian futbolista, Radamel Falcao, has had quite
the successful career since his arrival in Europe. He first played for Porto FC
and then moved to his current team, Atlético Madrid, and has since scored 26
goals in 37 games, according to ESPNsoccernet.
Though Falcao claims to be content playing for Atleti, there
are rumors floating around that both Chelsea and Manchester City are very
interested in Falcao. According to crunchsports.com, Chelsea has reportedly
sent scouts to watch Falcao at numerous Atlético Madrid games. Furthermore,
Manchester City is rumored to offer him £42 million.
However, ESPNsoccernet reports that El Tigre has
recently denied these rumors saying, "The press said that Manchester City
and Chelsea want me, but I am calm about this.....I insist now I am only
focused on obtaining success with Atlético." He additionally stated,
"My move to Atlético was a personal choice and I am satisfied because La
Liga is the best in the world."
It looks like good news for Atleti, Falcao is one of their
key strikers. It would be a shame to see him abandon ship for the Premier
League after just one season in La Liga. He seems to know full well that the British
may be able to offer him more money, but the real talent and prestige lies
within La Liga.
