ARE YOU READY!? This weekend is the game we have all been
waiting for! El Gran Clasico, as America faces their all time rival, Las
Chivas del Guadalajara, will be played this Sunday, April 8th. What is
the big deal you may ask yourself? These two teams possess the biggest
rivalry game in the whole Mexican nation for decades; no other two rivals bring
about more excitement and nail biting anticipation than these!
“El
Piojo” Herrera spoke about the game against Monterrey last week and said that
he is proud of his team. He went on to say that each player has been
putting 100% of their effort towards each game. About the upcoming
rivalry game, he said that the team is focused on bringing about a great game
with great results although, he added, “leaving Chivas out of the tournament
would be something to be very proud of.”
Another person who spoke about the upcoming game was Christian Benitez. He had pretty much the same view as El Piojo saying that Chivas was just another team in the Tournament. He did say, however, that we cannot ignore that it is a rivalry game one, if not the most, important rivalry games in Mexico. He said that every player on each team has one thing on their mind— winning. Lastly, he added that he leaves it all in God’s hands. He said that it is very nerve wrecking going into your opponent’s home and playing there. He leaves it up to God so that nothing bad happens to anyone on the field.
I
don’t know about you, but I am excited about this game. America has lost
two consecutive games and losing a third, especially to Chivas, would be
tragic. Chivas, on the other hand, finds themselves at number 11 on the
table, so losing is out of the picture if they want to make it into La Liguilla
this year. This game is sure to bring us to our feet in more than one
occasion! Time to set up the big screen my friends! Until further
