Hey Americanista
fans! I hope you didn’t think I had forgotten about keeping everyone
updated on what is happening with the team. After a much needed vacation,
I am back! After failing to make it to the finals of
Clausura, America hasn’t been playing any games. The strategy of
recruiting players for the team has begun for El Piojo Herrera.
Aldo de Nigris, player
from Monterrey, was one of the players that El Piojo is after. He said,
“If it isn’t de Nigris for the forward position, then I won’t get anyone for
Draft 2012.” If this does happen and de Nigris isn’t recruited, the
position will be left to Raul Jimenez, who had demonstrated that he is willing
to be part of the Aguilas. Unfortunately, de Nigris was not recruited for
Las Aguilas after the Monterrey management made it clear that de Nigris was not
on the transfer list.
Italian Alessandro del Piero has received offers from Las Aguilas and Cruz
Azul. Del Piero has only played for Juventus and has had a great career
with that team. As to why his representative has offered him to these two
teams? The main reason is that these two teams have the 2.5 million that
he is asking per year. You read correctly, 2.5 million a year! Word
as to what El Piojo is going to do has not been released, but as soon as it
does, I will inform you!
I end this by saying that
the rest of the team is excited about new players coming in. They voiced
that the recruiting of new players allows for more backup in case of accidents,
especially now that in the next season the team will be in two tournaments!
‘Til next time!
