Pipita se queda

One of the lasting memories I have of my short stay in Madrid is that of the Santiago Bernabéu chanting, "Pipita, quédate" – Pipita, stay [with us].  I joined in their chants.  Gonzalo "Pipita" Higuaín is one of the most talented – and highly underrated – strikers in the world.  The thought of him leaving my beloved team, Real Madrid, broke my heart.  However, I am happy to report to my fellow Madridistas that Pipita se quedará – Pipita will stay.

The Argentine had been linked to multiple clubs come the end of La Liga, including PSG, but his agent, Norberto Recasens, put an end to all the rumors today, stressing that his client has no intention of leaving los Blancos during the summer transfer window.  Racasens had the following to say:

"Gonzalo no se marchará del Real Madrid.  Se quedará cumpliendo su contracto.  Hubo ofertas de otros clubes pero Gonzalo se quedará en el Madrid.  Él está feliz, se queda en el Real Madrid, no se queda en un club de Tercera División. Lógicamente que quiere más minutos porque los necesita para la selección argentina, pero se siente bárbaro."

Gonzalo will not leave Real Madrid.  He will remain [at the club] fulfilling his contract.  There were offers from other clubs, but he will stay at Madrid.  He is happy.  He is at Real Madrid, not at some Third Division club.  Of course he wants more minutes because he needs them for the Argentina national team, but he feels great [here].

Racasens also added, "No crea que nadie vaya a pagar su cláusula" – I do not think anyone will pay his [buyout] clause.
