The Dutch and Danish will go head-to-head this Saturday in Kharkiv
at the Oblasny SportKomplex Metalist.
Both sides seem to be top form, with Netherlands's Joris Mathijsen as
the only doubtful due to a hamstring injury.
Denmark does not score much or often, but have the ability to
linger back and attack the opponent on the break. They have the ability to
create problems for the Dutch side, particularly for strikers Klaas Jan
Huntelaar and Robin Van Persie.
The Dutch have more of an "offense is the best defense"
approach to things, focusing more on their attack. And with good reason. The nation is home to a handful of the best
attackers in the world. Furthermore,
they have a strong midfield, all thanks to Nigel de Jong and captain Mark van
Bommel.
The Netherlands destroyed Northern Ireland 6-0 as well as beating
Slovakia 2-0 and England 3-2. However,
Bulgaria was able to defeat them at home 1-2.
As for Denmark, the Danish were able to beat Australia 2-0 in their most
recent friendly and Thailand 3-1, but lost to Brasil 3-1 and Russia 2-0. Their form isn't the most convincing coming
into the Euro, but one cannot read much into friendly results. It certainly is anyone's game.
