London 2012: Mexico vs South Korea

Hey everyone!  Just letting you know that I will be writing about Mexico during The Summer Olympics London 2012!  I have been given this great opportunity, and I hope that you all like my articles as much as you like the ones about Club America!  Now to begin, Mexico played it’s first match against South Korea this past Thursday.  Although Mexico played it’s best, it wasn’t enough to score against the South Koreans, which ended the game with a 0-0 tie.

The South Koreans took most of the control of the ball during the first half of the game, with their player Nam Taehee almost scoring at minute 19, and Park Jongwoo almost scoring again at minute 38.  Mexico seemed to have been playing it safe, but at minute 42, Hector Herrera gave the Korean goalie it’s first scare.

It wasn’t until Giovani dos Santos was put into the field that it seemed like Mexico had a little bit of hope in doing well.  And he was what the team needed!  Mexico had it’s best moments towards the end of the game with Dos Santos and Raul Jimenez almost scoring for the team.  Unfortunately, during Dos Santos play, the ball missed the goal and with Jimenez, the ball hit the left post.

With a 0-0 tie, Mexico moves on to it’s second match which is to be held on Sunday against Gabon.  I will keep you informed as always!  And now you know, to keep updated on your favorite teams, follow Official Football!
