Real Madrid is to face
Alcoyano, a lower-division club, in the Round of 32 in the Copa del Rey
competition. The first leg will be
played on Wednesday, October 31st at El Collao, with the second leg
played at home on November 28th.
There is the possibility of los
Blancos meeting Barcelona in the semifinals of the competition if both
teams make it to the stage.
Speaking of Barcelona,
the Blaugranas have also been paired with a lower-division club in the CdR
competition. The current Copa del Rey
champions are pitted against Alavés.
While Alcoyano and Alaves
play within Segunda B division, it would be a grave mistake on both Madrid and
Barcelona parts to underestimate their opponents. Alcoyano, the team from Alicante, arrive to
the Round of 32 unbeaten, eliminating Atlético Baleares and Tenerife.
Good luck, Real Madrid,
and good luck to all other competitors participating in the Copa del Rey.
