Back-to-back Clásico wins for Los Blancos

Hello, Madridistas!  I hope you all had a great weekend because I sure did.  If you are like me, you are still riding the waves of ecstasy from our win against Barça this Saturday.  You got that right, back-to-back Clásico wins.  Goals from Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos, who served as captain, sealed our consecutive win against our fiercest of rivals, certainly giving the team and fans a bout of confidence prior to the UCL match against the Red Devils up in Old Trafford.  I, for one, don't want to see this momentum stop.

Los Blancos played the Clásico to a home crowd this time around, the Bernabéu packed with many a Madridista... and the occasional Culé.  It would only take a mere six minutes for the men in white to score.  It all began with Ramos, who easily incepted the ball from soccer phenom Lionel Messi, and passed to RM youngster Álvaro Morata.  Morata, with some fancy footwork, then passed to Benzema with a threaded cross, who expertly finished the play.  Madrid was up 1-0 and we all had something to smile about.

However, our small victory would be short lived.  Barcelona fired back 12 minutes later, with Messi sending one past our Diego Lopez.  It would the Blaugrana''s first shot on goal as well.  The Argentine controlled the ball in the area and came face-to-face with the Andalusian stallion (read: Ramos), but remained calm as he made a well-placed shot, one that Lopez could not stop.  The match was all tied up come descanso and both camps faced a do-or-die second half.

Not much changed as the players reemerged from the dressing rooms.  Barça desperately attempted to maintain possession of the ball and Madrid was on the counterattack.  Mourinho made a double change, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sami Khedira coming in place for Benzema and Kaká.  CR7 showed exceptional form with first touch, controlling the ball up the wing, going up against Gerard Piqué.  And like last time, the Portuguese powerhouse was brought down by the center back.

Minutes would passed and both sides looked good for a win.  However, our shining light came in the form of our captain.  Our second and final goal of evening came from a corner taken by Modric.  Ramos expertly finished off the piece with a header, getting in front of the visiting defensive line, putting the ball past Victor Valdes, who was far from pleased letting a second one get through.

Real Madrid faces Manchester United next in the 2nd leg of the Champions League at Old Trafford.  It's like Mourinho said in his press conference today.  "The world will stop for 90 minutes to watch this match."  Until tomorrow, my friends, keep calm and ¡Hala Madrid!
