International Players Update

Diego Alves (Brazil- 2 caps):  Valencia’s Champions League keeper started and played the full 90 minutes against Egypt this past weekend, and played very well by all accounts, making some excellent saves and maintaining a clean sheet.

Jonas Gonçalves (Brazil- 5 caps, 2 goals):  Jonas did very well to score his first two International goals against Egypt this past weekend.

Jeremy Mathieu (France- 1st cap):  Jeremy Mathieu finally won his first cap for the French International Squad, playing the full 90 minutes against the United States Men’s National Team.

Adil Rami (France- 15 caps):  Rami continues to be a key piece of France’s center defense , played the full 90 alongside Mathieu to a 1-0 win against the U.S.

Mehmet Topal (Turkey- 22 caps):  Topal came on as a substitute in the 69th minute for Turkey, but failed make much of an impact as Turkey lost 3-0 to Croatia.

Jordi Alba (Spain- 3rd cap):  Alba continues to make a claim for the left back spot for Spain as he had an excellent game against England despite a 1-0 loss to England.  Alba was one of Spain’s more dangerous players, going forward often and creating chances for his team.
