Valencia take over Getafe

This past weekend Valencia played Getafe at home to an excellent 3-1 victory.  This win saw Valencia retain their 4th place position in the league, now only 4 points behind the leaders, Real Madrid.  This match had many firsts for Valencia, including goals from Sofiane Feghouli and Aritz Aduriz.  This match was the first in which three French players (Jeremy Mathieu, Adil Rami, Sofiane Feghouli) started for any team in La Liga. Aritz Aduriz and Sofiane Feghouli netted their first goals in a Valencia shirt.
Valencia got off to a great start in the match through Feghouli, when in the 12th minute he volleyed the ball from outside the 18 yard box for the go-ahead goal.  It was a true golazo, as Feghouli volleyed the ball into the ground and had the ball loop over the Getafe on loan keeper, Miguel Angel Moya.  Just ten minutes later Getafe would equalize after some lovely interplay between Dani Güiza and Diego Castro.  But then, just two minutes later, Feghouli would pop up again, this time finding himself in the right place at the right time as the ball bounced around in the box and landed at his feet.  Feghouli slid the ball past Moya with the outside of his foot for the 2-1.  Aritz Aduriz would enter the game for Soldado in the 62nd minute— an obvious ploy to keep Soldado fresh for the Champions League match against Leverkusen on Tuesday, but the Basque striker would make full use of the opportunity.

Aduriz scored his first goal of the season, solidifying the win for Valencia, in the 76th minute, just 12 minutes after coming onto the pitch.  Aduriz made an excellent run after an even better pass from Ever Banega, which put him one on one with Moya.  A lovely touch (and a bit of luck) by Aduriz got him just around the Spaniard with an open net in front of him, where the Basque striker tucked the ball home right away for the 3-1.  The score would remain that way until the end of the match, giving Valencia all 3 points.

Valencia CF: Guaita, Miguel, Rami, Víctor Ruiz, Mathieu, Albelda, Banega, Pablo, Jonás (Piatti, m.77), Feghouli (Jordi Alba, m.56) y Soldado (Aduriz, m.62).
