In Spain, rumors have begun circulating that Deportivo de La
Coruña’s Mexican winger, Andres Guardado,
might be on his way to the Mestalla next season. The winger’s contract will end this summer and it appears as
though Valencia is positioned to snatch him up for free in January. This means the winger’s rights will
belong to Valencia, though he will stay in La Coruña until his original
contract expires at the end of the season. I personally think this is a good move, especially since the
team feels a bit light on the wings since the departure of Joaquin and Mata. A bit more strength, skill, and pace
injected into that part of the field could really do Valencia a lot of
good. It appears that Guardado certainly
can provide all of these things. Valencia
fans will do well to keep an eye on these rumors and as it gets closer to
January when things will start to clear up. Until then, positive thoughts and wishes, let’s hope Valencia
can get him or another winger of his quality for cheap.
