El Clásico de España is one of the most watched sporting games around the
world. Millions tune in to watch
Spain's Barcelona and Real Madrid face each other in the world’s best
rivalry. Thousands of fans are
lucky enough to be at the stadium when the opening whistle blows. El Clásico has involved players like
Zidane, Ronaldo, Johan Crouf, Ronaldinho, Figo, and Diego Maradona. Most football fanatics remember
Barcelona's complete dominance last year in El Clásico when they embarrassed
Real Madrid 5-0. Unfortunately everyone also remembers the four brutal Clásicos
at the end of the season. The most
memorable Clásico for this writer would have to be when Barcelona visited the
Bernabeau and Ronaldinho received a standing ovation from everyone in the
stadium—even Las Ultras of Real Madrid.
This will be the third Clásico of the year with both teams having already met in the Super Copa de España. Real Madrid is currently ahead in the standings by three points above Barcelona. This game is crucial for Barcelona to win so they can close the gap on Madrid. With all players healthy and in fantastic form, we are sure to be treated to an unforgettable performance. El Clásico will be December 10 at 3 P.M. central time; I will most definitely be watching this one.
