Club America: Oswaldo Viscarrondo taking the heat.

After a loss against Tigres, El America is looking closely at the errors made during the game and trying to learn from those mistakes.  The team is now trying to come up with plays that are both effective and creative that can be used in future games.  The main error that is on the spot light at the moment is one that Oswaldo Viscarrondo made in which he lost the control of the ball and led to the first and only goal that Tigres scored.
Now, let me just say that errors can be made by everyone and we can’t blame one person for the loss of a game.  Luckily, Viscarrondo’s team members feel the same way.  After much criticism from other teams, the media, and even some fans, the team came out to defend their teammate.  Jesus Molina came out on camera and said, “There is no one to blame... it’s a chain, unfortunately we had an error.  He made a mistake but we could have had his back, done more, and come out on top.  But we must learn from our mistakes.”  It’s great that they have each other’s back; it goes to show that the team is really starting to act like a whole instead of individuals trying to get their 15 minutes of glory.

Now that America officially has one loss to their name during Clausura 2012, what’s next?  To begin, Miguel “El Piojo” Herrara announced that his goal is for the team to get to 30 points by the end of the Tournament to be able to qualify for the championship position.  A lot?  He said that the team will try to get as many points as possible to try and meet that goal.  During a press conference that was held earlier this week, Herrara commented, “We are an important team and we have to push ourselves to get as many points as possible.”

We shall see what the future holds for Las Aguilas.  The next game is on February 11th against Atlas.  Expect some news soon!
