Manchester City Wins Silverware while Mancini Learns from Mistakes

The tragedy between Roberto Mancini and Carlos Tevez is well known within the football industry.  People familiar with the case have taken different stances on the situation.  Some have supported the Italian hero, whereas others have sided with the Argentine prodigy.  The conclusion to this cautionary ManCity tale has two morals – Mancini learned from his mistakes and Tevez is ready for a second race.

Mancini allowed for emotions to take precedence over professionalism following the famous incident, where he publicly announced that Carlos Tevez would never play football for Manchester City.  However, after six long months, Manchester City and Mr. Roberto gave Tevez the opportunity to offset past actions with good performance and help bring glory to the club.  The former Boca Juniors striker did not disappoint, helping City win their last two titles: the Premier League and, their most recent, the Community Shield.

After Manchester City defeated Chelsea FC 3-2 and took home the Community Shield title, Mancini spoke very highly of Tevez.

"I'm very happy because Carlos, this year, worked very well in pre-season," Mancini said. "His form is better than last year and, also, because I think this year he wants to play football. For a player, it's difficult not to play a game. Carlos, last year, was six months without a game, without a match. That's difficult. He's a top player. If he wants to play, he's one of the top.

"Last year, we had Carlos for the last 10 games and it was important, he scored five or six goals. But he was not 100%. This is the first time in the last four or five years that he's had a pre-season, and for every player that's important."

The football industry will never know for certain the reasons behind why Tevez stayed with City, the final agreement between the three parties (Manchester City, Mancini, and Tevez), or the reasons why Mancini allowed the striker back in the first team after all that had been said and done.

The former West Ham savior is a pivotal player that can change games and produce championship wins.  After all, he was the critical piece behind City's three trophies in the past three seasons.  Consequently, Mancini has realized that certain topics are better kept inside the locker room and has focused on building a team that can optimally perform in different tournaments.

Carlos Tevez has been given a second opportunity of shining at City, to continue scoring goals for the team that he has learned to love.  The Argentine stated that he "wants to stay and score goals" because, like his beloved Boca Juniors, he finds himself to be, a ManCity fan.
