Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in an away
UEFA Champions League match at Signal Iduna Park. This will be the third UCL match for los Blancos in this campaign and the men
sit pretty on top as top scorers of the competition. Mourinho has called upon 21 men for the match
against Dortmund, selecting all available first-teamers. Those who did not make the cut include
injured players Fabio Coentrão, Álvaro Arbeloa, and Marcelo. Coentrão and Arbeloa were absent from
training sessions at Valdebebas, continuing their recovery processes. Today was RM's last training session at home
before flying to the German city.
By no means will the match against Dortmund be
easy. Mourinho appeared before the media
stating, "It is a good team. We
analyze the rival globally, not individually.
It is full of good players and we need to respect them and that is what
we are going to do."
The Portuguese manager went on to add, "This is
not a group where you classify with three games, in which you can set a record
like last season's 18-point one. We want
to classify. We do not want to be the
major team that stays back in the Europa League. We want to continue in the Champions."
Listed are the 21 players Mourinho called up for duty
against Dortmund:
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Adán, and Jesús
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Nacho, Carvalho, and
Albiol
Midfielders:
Khedira, Kaká, Özil, Essien, Xabi
Alonso, Modric, Callejón, and Di María
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Morata, Benzema, and Higuaín
