December: A Tell all Month for Atletico Madrid

After a bit of a rough patch with losses to Valencia in La Liga and to Académica de Coimbra in the Europa league, Atletico Madrid are starting to bounce back in preparation for a tough upcoming month. Atleti has had a very strong start to the season, they currently sit just 3 points behind Barcelona, who currently lead La Liga. Furthermore, Los Rojiblancos are now a full 8 points ahead of city rivals, Real Madrid, after they beat Sevilla and Real lost to Betis this past weekend. Many marvel at their feat, yet to be taken seriously they have to prove their worth against giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Los Colchoneros are scheduled to take on city rivals this coming Saturday in the Santiago Bernabeu for what is commonly referred to as the Derbi Madrileño. Atleti is coming off a win and Los Blancos a loss; however, Real Madrid has a long history of always beating Atleti. Though if Los Rojiblancos can pull off a win, it will be an enormous victory. Two weekends later, Atleti is scheduled to play Barcelona. How they fare against these two teams will give us a better look at their real chances of finishing top two in La Liga.

El Tigre, Radamel Falcao, scored his 50th goal for Atleti against Sevilla this past weekend. The star striker took a penalty shot and scored. The Colombian hasn't missed a penalty yet this season. Atletico has also advanced to the knockout stage of the Europa League tournament, where they are the defending champions.

Atleti is scheduled to play Jaen this week for the Copa del Rey tournament, but the match that everyone is waiting for, is the Derby on Saturday. Until then, ¡Aupa Atleti!
